Today, i.e. May 5, people across the world will celebrate World Laughter Day. For the unversed, every year, the very first Sunday of the month of May is celebrated as the Laughter Day and the first celebration was done way back in 1998 in Mumbai. And same was started off by Dr. Madan Kataria who is the founder of worldwide Laughter Yoga Movement and post the same, it has been celebrated across the globe.

We all know the famous quote that ‘Laughter is the Best Medicine’ and indeed it is! The activity of laughing has numerous benefits. Right from lowering of blood pressure, increasing the oxygen intake to improving concentration, the practice of laughing will surely help you to lead a healthy life.

Talking about Laughter yoga aka Hasyayoga, the activity has the same physiological and psychological benefits as we get from spontaneous laughing. For the unversed, Hasyayoga involves chanting of Ho Ho Ho with genuine laughing. The asana includes different laughter exercises such as hearty laughter, greeting laughter, open-mouthed laughter, silent laughter and humming laughter.
