Many people complain of feeling fatigued and stressed. When they come home in the evening they feel very tired and often they feel agitated and angry. Ayurveda describes a few things that you should do when you go home.

The first thing that you should do when you come out of the office is to switch off the office in your mind. As soon as you sit in the car or in the metro or on your motorcycle, stop thinking what you did in the office or what you need to do in office the next day. Take a few deep breaths and listen to relaxing music and do not do anything stimulating. When you come home remember to keep you mind calm. People often come home and turn on the TV or start browsing the Internet on their mobile phones or watch videos on YouTube, drink coffee or tea. Your mind is already stressed because of the stressful activities in the office, when you come home it is time to relax.

3 things that will calm your mind

After reaching home, there are only three simple things that you need to do to feel relaxed. These activities will bring your mind to a calm and peaceful state without you having to drink coffee or tea or worse, alcohol.

Step 1: After you have changed your dress and washed yourself, find a quiet place in the house where you can lie down for about 7-8 minutes in the Shavasana yoga pose. In this simple pose all you need to do is stay in a lying position, keep your eyes closed and focus on your breathing. This technique is very relaxing. You may not feel it right away or within the first few days, but gradually as you become better at focusing your concentration on your breathing you will feel a wave of relaxation washing over you. Gradually, as you begin to practice it over and over again, you will feel totally relaxed both mentally and physically.

Step 2: Take some sesame oil and gently massage it on your forehead for a few minutes. Do it yourself or if there is someone who can help, ask for help. Just get champi massage for 7-10 minutes every evening

Step 3: And, finally take a bath with normal water depending upon the weather. Bathing will wash away all the heat and sweat from your body and you will feel fresh and relaxed. You can add some rose petals some essential oil in the water and gently pour it over you. Feel the water washing away your stress. You can get similar effect under the shower too. Just allow yourself to enjoy the water flowing down from your head to the feet. This will take your mind off all the worries and you will feel relaxed.

These three activities will completely relax you and you will feel happy both physically and mentally.

Relax, don’t stimulate

When you are at home, your priority should be to spend some quality time with your family and children. Do not do anything to stimulate your system any further. To relax even more, you can apply some nice and relaxing aroma in your living space and listen to some soft music and read something educative and relaxing. Try to keep away from electronic devices but if you must then make sure to watch something nice and relaxing. Remember that watching anything violent will aggravate you mentally.

Before going to bed start preparing yourself. Many people cannot sleep well because till the very last moment they are busy with their mobile phones watching TV or working on their laptops. This stimulates the mind and this is not good. Instead make yourself a nice drink of warm milk and turmeric and drink it before going to bed. This will help you sleep much better. If you want you can also massage your feet with sesame oil. All of this will help you in getting a sound sleep.

This is described in Ayurveda and by sleeping well you allow your body to relax, rejuvenate and repair itself.
